Experiment 01 / Worked exampleFrom vague request
From vague request
to reviewed draft.
A fictional design studio’s welcome email. This is a prepared teaching example; each stage shows what changes and why.
EXAMPLE: NEW CLIENT WELCOME EMAILPREPARED DEMONSTRATION / NO LIVE AI CALL
Give the task some boundaries.
Business: a small brand-design studio. Audience: a new client who has approved the proposal. Task: write a welcome email under 180 words. Source: the approved onboarding checklist. Next step: request existing brand files and a kickoff time. Constraint: do not invent dates, deliverables or links. Success: the client knows what to send and what happens next.
A draft can sound right and still be wrong.
Welcome aboard! We’re excited to begin your brand project. Please send your current logo and brand files. We’ll deliver three concepts next Friday and arrange your kickoff for Monday at 10am. Looking forward to getting started!
Those dates and the promise of three concepts were not in the approved source.
Check it against the brief.
- Keep: a clear welcome and a request for existing files.
- Remove: invented delivery date and concept count.
- Change: ask the client for a kickoff time rather than assigning one.
- Confirm: the agreed secure route for sharing files.
- Human decision: approve the wording and add verified details before sending.
A more useful version.
Welcome — we’re looking forward to working on your brand project. To help us prepare, please gather your existing logo, brand guidelines and any examples you’d like us to consider. We’ll confirm the agreed file-sharing route with you. Could you also send a couple of suitable times for our kickoff conversation? We’ll use that session to confirm the brief, priorities and next steps together.
The draft follows the supplied brief. The sender still checks it against the actual agreement before use.
The useful skill: give the work context, then check the answer against it.

what matters.
Create a reusable business context brief. Download it, adapt it and use it with an approved AI tool.
Your words stay here.
This builder runs in your browser. It does not send your answers to DCL or an AI service, and it does not save them after you leave.
Use non-sensitive examples. Review the brief before sharing it with any other service.
